    Director of Training and Development

    LMFT 125489

I am a daughter, friend, wife, mother, a dedicated therapist and a Black woman. None of these designations and roles hold higher than another and they are all important. Breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma where I am able to prioritize my needs and wants and give permission to myself to rest has been a journey. One that has included a better relationship with my body as well as my mind.

My expertise with Trauma, expressive arts, and evidence based practices has grown since I first began in the field. I started working with youth who were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2011 while also working in group homes with youth in foster care. I advanced into community based work while providing crisis intervention support for some of San Jose’s higher risk youth. My career has led me to working within health care systems to provide individualized trauma treatment for adults. I occasionally continue to work with youth and families and supporting postpartum mothers who are suffering from clinically diagnosable mood disorders.

I am passionate about psychoeducation and access to quality treatment for all. I recognize the shift in our society that has pushed mental health towards the forefront of care. I also recognize the difficulty of finding “the right therapist” for you. Whether this is your first experience with seeking mental health support or you have been struggling finding one that fits your needs I hope that I can add something to your journey. I value honesty, transparency, and respect and do everything I can to make that a normal part of this work. I encourage questions and I elicit feedback often. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need.
